This Conference marks the end of a series of events dedicated to the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, that have started in February 2010, in Ulm (Germany) with the occasion of launching the public consultation.

This event has as objective the discussion on the possible actions which could be presented in the Action Plan developed by the European Commission (DG REGIO). This Action Plan will be prepared after analyses and debates on the contributions received by countries of the Danube Region and stakeholders.

Foreign Ministers from the countries of the Danube Basin (Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, The Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Ukraine) will be invited to make presentations in the opening plenary sessions.

Organisers:
The European Commission jointly with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism.

19.00 -19.30 Press Conference to be organized by the Commission representation in Romania (TBC: President, Commissioner and the Foreign Ministers)

19.30 – 19.50 Delegations departure for the National Theater “Oleg Danovski”, Constanţa
20.00 Gala Concert (Location: National Theater “Oleg Danovski”, Constanţa)
21.15 – 21.30 Delegations departure for Hotel Iaki
21.30 – 23.00 Welcome cocktail offered by the Minister of Foreign Affaires (Hotel Iaki)

Working groups will be opened to participation by all registered participants.
Working Group topics:
 Improve connectivity and communications systems

 Environment, water and risk management

 Socio-economic, human and institutional development

13:00-14:30 Networking Lunch (Iaki Premises)
14:30-16:00 3 thematic working groups (continuation)
16.00-16.30 Coffee break
16.30-17.30 Business sector round table
The objective is to discuss the possible involvement of the private sector in the implementation of the Strategy (private sector in the context of the Strategy – financing, technical assistance, major investments and consultancy issues).
17.30 - 18.00 Conclusions of the 3 thematic working groups
20:00 – 22:00 Romanian traditional evening (dinner and traditional entertainment; Location TBC – Hotel Iaki or Vega)

23.30 Arrival to Bucharest (for the ones which opted for a return to Bucharest)
