Obituary for Joseph Országh (1938-2020)

As a friend of the departed (since our very first correspondence, back in 2012), and as one who shares with him both homeland and the kingdom of chemistry, I have to accommodate to a future that is without him.

A moment like this is inevitable to happen; this is Nature’s ways – to which He was in his whole life a most obedient and learned servant.

For those who sorrow about his leaving us, I should call their attention to see and perceive:

1.) Whereto he arrived, is a place without turmoil, illness, pains, and idiocy.

2.) From now on He has no hidden neither covert enemies, nor war with dead-pan bureaucrats.

3.) He bequeathed mankind a knowledge that is worth more than gold.

4.) All those who humbly apply his principles in practice, propagate his thoughts, will actively help keeping his memory live.

What remains to be done is to bring his name the honour he duly deserves. An approach to gain this end – through Right Livelihood Award, in 2016 – went awry: The year he was nominated he went through a serious heart-operation, and no RLA officers made any effort to visit him with their usual questionnaire, while he was recuperating amid justifiable hopes.

With his having leaved us, this matter may turn and follow an easier route: the World had already became intimate with the “Semmelwies syndrome”, and act accordingly. We Hungarians are proud to give shining talents to mankind, but must cry over not being able to appreciate them while they live.

As to me, I will keep writing: unveiling issues where Eautarcie could be a clear winner against the ruling arrangement; illuminating topics where the workings of Eautarcie is the only viable way towards sustainability. Just as I did it in my previous book [Dirt & Water: the Present Official Practices – as seen in the mirror of the Plausible Solution], which will soon be accompanied by the next: Voyages around/along Eautarcie: With climate-sensitive compass on board, amongst the Scylla's of the Laws and in the Shadow of the Media.
